Terms and Conditions
AdvoAssist is a legal services platform available at www.advoassist.ae and through the AdvoAssist iOS and Android apps. It is owned and operated by ADVOASSIST PORTAL L.L.C, a company registered in the United Arab Emirates under licence number 1641338 issued by Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), Government of Dubai, with its registered address at Office 012-301, Building 301 – Control Tower, Al Hebiah First, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In these Terms, the company and the service it operates are both referred to as "the Platform".
These Terms and Conditions (the "Terms"), together with the Cancellation and Refund Policy and the Privacy Policy, form one agreement between you and the Platform (the "Agreement"). They apply to everyone who visits or uses the website, the web platform, the mobile apps, the chat bot and the call centre.
1. DEFINITIONS
1.1 In these Terms:
(a) "Client" or "you" means an individual or a company that uses the Platform to obtain legal services.
(b) "Specialist" means an independent, licensed advocate, legal consultant, notary, translator or other legal professional who has been admitted to the Platform. In section 23, "you" means the Specialist.
(c) "Users" means Clients and Specialists.
(d) "Service" means any service ordered through the Platform, including a consultation, full case handling, document drafting or review, attestation, notarisation, certified translation or an Emergency Service.
(e) "Specialist Services" means the professional work carried out by a Specialist for a Client. "Platform Services" means the services the Platform itself provides, described in clause 2.4.
(f) "Request" means the description of a matter, and any documents, that a Client submits to the Platform.
(g) "Case" means the file opened in the Client's account for each Request.
(h) "Order" means a confirmed Request for a Service, once payment has been received.
(i) "Communications and Documents" means all messages, calls, recordings, files and other content exchanged or stored through the Platform.
(j) "Quotation Request" means the option to publish a Request so that several invited Specialists can each propose a price.
(k) "Pay Minimum" means the option to pay a fixed starting amount so that a Specialist can assess a complex matter before the final price is agreed.
(l) "Arbitration" means the Platform's internal procedure for reviewing disputes about the result of a Service, a Specialist's price reassessment or a request to replace a Specialist, described in section 9.
(m) "Support" means the Platform's help desk for questions about the Platform, accounts, payments or technical problems.
(n) "Platform Fee" means the Platform's own charge for the Platform Services on an Order. It is priced for each Order individually and is included in the total price shown to you; it is not a commission deducted from the Specialist's fee.
(o) "PSP" means the licensed third-party payment service provider that processes payments made through the Platform.
2. ABOUT THE PLATFORM
2.1 The Platform connects Clients in the UAE with independent, verified Specialists and gives both sides one place to manage a Case: documents, messages, payments and status updates. It serves individuals and companies on personal matters (for example family and divorce, wills and inheritance, tenancy disputes, criminal defence, marriage contracts, immigration and Golden Visa) and business matters (for example company formation, contracts, real estate transactions, employment disputes, debt collection, civil claims, trademarks, attestation, notarisation and certified translation).
2.2 Under UAE law, legal advice and representation may only be given by persons licensed to do so. For that reason, the professional legal work on a Case is always carried out by the Specialist assigned to it, under his or her own licence and professional duties. The Platform is not a law firm. It does not itself give legal, notarial, tax or financial advice, and it does not appear before courts or represent anyone.
2.3 The engagement for Specialist Services is between the Client and the Specialist. The Platform is not a party to that engagement, but it provides the Platform Services and the oversight described in clause 2.5.
2.4 The Platform Services include: hosting the website and apps; account registration and verification; receiving and routing Requests; Specialist profiles; the messaging channel and, where enabled, voice and video calls; document exchange and storage; scheduling and notifications; payment facilitation through the PSP; receipts and invoices; Support; and Arbitration.
2.5 The Platform's role goes further than an introduction. The Platform:
(a) checks every Specialist's licence, registration and credentials before the profile is published, and continues to monitor response times, case progress and client ratings after that;
(b) reviews each Request through a manager and matches it to a suitable Specialist by area of law, language and location;
(c) organises the booking, payment, document exchange and communication on the Case;
(d) may review the result of the work before a Case is closed; and
(e) steps in through Arbitration if a Specialist falls short, as described in section 9.
2.6 The self-help section, articles and the chat bot give general legal information only. They are not legal advice and do not create any lawyer–client relationship.
2.7 Functions released in stages. Some of the functions described in these Terms, including Quotation Request, Pay Minimum, automated matching, automated notifications and the AI Tools described in section 16, form part of the Platform's planned functionality and are released in stages. Until a function is released in automated form, the corresponding process is carried out manually by the Platform's managers and staff, and the description of that function in these Terms is to be read accordingly.
2.8 No provision of these Terms constitutes a representation, warranty or undertaking that a particular function is available in automated form at any given time, or that it will be released on any particular date. The manual performance of a process has the same legal effect under these Terms as its automated performance. The unavailability, manual performance, modification or withdrawal of a function does not, of itself, give rise to any claim, and does not affect the validity or enforceability of the remaining provisions.
3. ELIGIBILITY AND ACCOUNTS
3.1 You must be at least 18 years old and have legal capacity. If you act for a company, you confirm that you are authorised to bind it.
3.2 The Platform does not provide services to persons or entities subject to UAE, UN, OFAC, EU or UK sanctions, or to users located in sanctioned countries.
3.3 You must give true, complete and current information and keep it up to date. The Platform may verify it at any time and may reject, suspend or close an account where the information turns out to be untrue.
3.4 Keep your login details private. You are responsible for everything done through your account. Do not share, sell or transfer your account, and notify support@advoassist.com straight away if you think someone has accessed it without permission.
3.5 The Platform may refuse access or change its eligibility criteria where it has a lawful reason to do so. It will not refuse access on discriminatory grounds.
3.6 The Platform assumes no responsibility or liability for the outcome, quality, or results of the services provided by the Specialist, or for the truthfulness, accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any information or documents provided by the Client.
4. PLACING A REQUEST
4.1 A Request can be started by clicking "Get Help" and describing the situation, by choosing a Service from the "Services" catalogue, by calling the call centre, by writing to the chat bot, or by leaving a request for a consultation. A Platform manager may also open an account for you and send you an access link.
4.2 To find the right Specialist, the Platform needs a clear description of your situation, the area of law, your preferred language and any deadlines, hearing dates or documents you already have. Please mention any deadline or court date at the outset. Advice is only as good as the information you give.
4.3 Depending on the Service, the price is set in one of three ways:
(a) Fixed price – the price shown for standard services, which may vary with the options selected (for example urgency, scope or volume);
(b) Quotation Request – invited Specialists propose their own price and you choose. Announcing an auction costs nothing until you accept a proposal. This function is released in stages as described in clause 2.7; until it is available in automated form, the Platform's managers collect price proposals from Specialists manually and present them to you for selection, with the same effect; or
(c) Pay Minimum – you pay a fixed starting amount, and the final price is agreed after the Specialist has assessed the matter.
4.4 You may request a Service for another person (for example a family member) by telling the Platform manager in the chat who the Service is for. The Platform will open an account for that person and move the Case into it, and that person then becomes the Client. You confirm that you have that person's consent to share his or her details.
4.5 If a person is detained and cannot contact the Platform, a family member, friend or other trusted person may do so for him or her. The Platform will need basic details and documents to prepare a power of attorney, which the appointed Specialist can have signed at the place of detention, subject to the procedures and approvals of the authority concerned.
5. EMERGENCY SERVICES
5.1 Services listed in the "Emergency" section (for example arranging for a lawyer to attend a police station or detention centre) are handled as a priority. The Platform aims to respond within 30 minutes and to arrange in-person attendance as quickly as a Specialist is available.
5.2 These response times are targets, not guarantees. Attendance depends on Specialist availability, location, traffic and the rules of the authority concerned. Do not rely on the Platform alone where a deadline is only hours away.
5.3 The Platform is not an emergency service. If anyone's life, health or safety is at risk, call the police on 999 or an ambulance on 998 first.
6. SPECIALISTS
6.1 Specialists are independent professionals. They are not employees, partners or agents of the Platform, and they decide how to carry out the legal work within their professional rules.
6.2 Each Specialist appears under a public nickname with his or her emirate, languages, specialisation, experience, education, short biography and rating. Where the law requires, or where it is needed for a power of attorney, an engagement letter or a complaint to a regulator, the Platform will give the Client the Specialist's full name and licence details.
6.3 The mark "Verified" next to a qualification means that the Platform has reviewed the supporting evidence provided by the Specialist. It is an administrative check, not a warranty of the Specialist's skill.
6.4 Profile indicators such as the number of completed cases, success figures or rankings come from Platform records and, in some cases, from assessments made by the Platform's administration (particularly while a Specialist is new). They help you compare and are not a promise of any outcome.
6.5 Suggested Specialists are there to help you choose. The final choice is yours, except where you have asked the Platform to choose for you. If you know of a possible conflict of interest, please say so.
6.6 A Specialist may decline a Case because of a conflict of interest or another objective or professional reason. The Platform will then offer another Specialist, and if it cannot, the payment will be refunded under the Cancellation and Refund Policy.
7. HOW A CASE RUNS
7.1 Once the PSP confirms payment, the Client receives a confirmation by e-mail and a private channel with the Specialist opens in the account. From that moment the booking is confirmed. A Platform manager starts work on the Request straight away and in any event within 4 hours.
7.2 The account shows the status and next steps of the Case, and automatic notifications are sent about status changes and upcoming deadlines. Clients can ask follow-up questions through the channel after a consultation.
7.3 The price paid covers the scope shown at checkout. If the matter needs more (for example government or court fees, translations, extra hearings or work caused by new facts), the Specialist will explain why and the Platform will issue a separate invoice. Additional work is carried out only after the Client has accepted and paid that invoice. Nothing is added to a bill automatically.
7.4 When the Specialist reports that the work is complete, the Platform may review the result before the Case is closed. The Case then stays open for 7 days (the "guarantee period") so that the Client can ask questions, request clarifications or point out anything that has not been done. The Client can ask Support to extend the guarantee period.
7.5 On completion, the Platform retains the Platform Fee included in the price you paid and pays the Specialist his or her fee for the legal work in full. No commission is deducted from the Specialist's fee.
7.6 No outcome is guaranteed. Decisions of courts, public prosecutors, government bodies and other third parties are outside the control of the Platform and the Specialist, and unfavourable advice is still chargeable.
8. COMMUNICATIONS, DOCUMENTS AND CONFIDENTIALITY
8.1 Communication on the Platform only. All communication about a matter must take place through the Platform, by chat or, where the Service allows, by voice or video call. Users must not move a matter off the Platform or exchange phone numbers, e-mail addresses or other contact details for that purpose. This does not apply where in-person attendance, a court appearance, notarisation or signing is needed, or where the law requires otherwise. Work done outside the Platform is not covered by this Agreement or by the Platform's protection.
8.2 Storage and access to documents. Documents are stored in the Platform's secure database. By default, only the Client can see the documents in his or her personal archive. For a fixed-price Service, a Specialist can see the documents attached to a Request only after accepting the Order. For Quotation Request, the documents are visible to the invited Specialists while the auction is open, and once it closes only the selected Specialist keeps access.
8.3 Access by the Platform. All Communications and Documents pass through and are stored on systems operated by or for the Platform. The Platform is not end-to-end encrypted, and the Platform has the technical ability and the contractual right to access, review, retain and, where required, disclose them. Each User consents to this access by using the Platform. Do not send anything through the Platform that you are not prepared for the Platform to access.
8.4 Permitted purposes. The Platform accesses Communications and Documents only for: operating the service (transmission, storage and backup); security; preventing and investigating fraud, abuse and unlawful activity; enforcing these Terms, including the rule in clause 8.1; Support at a User's request; quality control; Arbitration and complaints; complying with the law and with lawful requests of courts and authorities; establishing or defending legal claims; and improving the Platform on an aggregated, de-identified basis.
8.5 Safeguards. Access is limited to authorised staff with a need to know, under role-based controls, logging and written confidentiality undertakings, and to the minimum content necessary. Access for complaints, Arbitration and legal requests must be authorised by an authorised representative of the Company. Content is encrypted in transit and at rest. Specialists are also bound by professional secrecy under UAE law.
8.6 What the Platform will not do. The Platform will not disclose Communications and Documents to other Users, sell or publish them, use them to market to Clients or third parties, use them to give legal advice, or share them with a Specialist's competitor. Disclosure to third parties takes place only as set out in the Privacy Policy, in particular where required by law or a competent authority.
8.7 Privilege. The Platform can access Communications and Documents, a court or authority may take this into account when deciding whether content is confidential or privileged. The Platform cannot promise that content held on it will be treated as privileged. A Specialist who considers that the Platform's access would conflict with his or her professional duties in a particular matter must tell the Client and the Platform before accepting it.
8.8 Recordings. Voice and video consultations may be recorded through the Platform. Participants are told beforehand and may decline. Recording by any other means without the consent of all participants is prohibited. Recordings are treated as Communications and Documents.
8.9 Files. Files must comply with the formats and size limits shown. The Platform may quarantine or remove infected, oversized or unlawful files. Users are responsible for the accuracy, authenticity and legality of what they upload, for removing information that is not needed, and for keeping their own copies.
8.10 Retention. Content is kept for the periods set out in the Privacy Policy, and longer where a dispute, investigation or legal hold requires. Deleting content from an account does not necessarily remove it from backups straight away.
9. SUPPORT, COMPLAINTS AND ARBITRATION
9.1 Support handles questions about the Platform, accounts, payments or technical problems. Requests are submitted from the dashboard with a subject, category and message, and can be followed through the statuses "Open", "In Progress" and "Resolved". Support is available at support@advoassist.com during one (1) Business Day, excluding weekends and public holidays . Response times are indicative only.
9.2 Arbitration handles disputes about the result of a Service, a Specialist's price reassessment, or a request to replace a Specialist. Before opening Arbitration, please raise the issue with the Specialist in the chat.
9.3 To open Arbitration, choose the Case in the dashboard, give the reason, describe the problem and attach any supporting documents. This should be done during the guarantee period or within 7 days of the consultation. Arbitration cases can be followed through the statuses "Submitted", "Under Review", "Additional Information Required" and "Resolved". The Platform acknowledges each case within 2 business days and aims to decide it within 14 days. Support and Arbitration are separate, and a Support request does not turn into an Arbitration case.
9.4 Arbitration is carried out by Platform staff who are not involved in the Case. While it is under review, work on the Case may be paused, and both the Client and the Specialist may be asked for information. By opening Arbitration, the Client agrees that the Platform may review the Communications and Documents of the Case.
9.5 A Specialist can only be replaced through Arbitration. Depending on the facts, the outcome may be one or more of the following: the Specialist completes or corrects the work; the Case moves to another Specialist at no extra cost; a full or partial refund, or a credit, under the Cancellation and Refund Policy; or the Specialist is suspended or removed from the Platform.
9.6 The Arbitration decision is final as far as remedies on the Platform are concerned. This does not take away any right that cannot be excluded under UAE law, including the right to go to a competent court, to consumer protection authorities, or to complain about a Specialist's professional conduct to the body that licenses him or her.
9.7 Arbitration reviews how the Service was delivered. Whether a particular legal opinion was professionally correct is ultimately a matter for the Specialist's regulator or the courts.
9.8 The Platform may refuse remedies and suspend accounts where the complaints procedure is abused.
10. PAYMENT
10.1 All Services are paid 100% in advance through the Platform, when the Request is confirmed or the Specialist is selected. The channel with the Specialist opens only after the PSP confirms payment. If the Platform cannot match the Client with a Specialist, the payment is refunded in full.
10.2 All prices are in UAE Dirhams (AED). You pay one price, shown before you confirm. That price is made up of the Specialist's fee for the legal work and the Platform Fee for the Platform Services, each priced for that Order individually, together with VAT where it applies under Federal Decree-Law No. 8 of 2017 on Value Added Tax. Nothing further is charged on top for the Platform Services. Government, court and other third-party fees are not included unless the Service description says so.
10.3 The price and currency shown at checkout are the same as on the receipt. Cards issued in another currency are converted by the card issuer at its own rate, and the Platform is not responsible for conversion fees.
10.4 Payment can be made by Visa or Mastercard, by bank transfer against an invoice, or by other methods shown at checkout, such as Apple Pay, Google Pay or PayPall.
10.5 All card payments are processed by an independent, licensed PSP, currently Stripe Payments Europe, Limited, regulated as applicable by the Central Bank of the UAE, the ADGM Financial Services Regulatory Authority or the Dubai Financial Services Authority. Card details pass to the PSP in encrypted form. The Platform does not process or store card details and receives only a masked reference and the result of the transaction.
10.6 The Platform is a technology company. It does not hold a payment, money transmission or escrow licence and is not a payment institution or escrow agent. KYC and anti-money-laundering checks on payments are carried out by the PSP, and the Platform is not responsible for the PSP's decisions.
10.7 Amounts received and awaiting payout to a Specialist are held under a commercial collection arrangement, not as client money or in trust, and do not earn interest.
10.8 A confirmation e-mail is sent after each payment, and receipts and invoices are available in "Billing" in the account. Please keep your own copies.
10.9 If a payment fails or is reversed, the booking is not confirmed, and the Platform may put the Case or the account on hold until payment is made.
10.10 The Platform may cancel a transaction or suspend an account where it suspects fraud, unauthorised use of a card or money laundering, and may report the matter to the authorities.
10.11 The Platform may change prices and the Platform Fee from time to time. Changes do not affect Orders already paid for.
10.12 Services or subscriptions bought inside the mobile app through the Apple App Store or Google Play are paid to Apple or Google, and their payment, renewal and refund rules also apply. Any subscription renews automatically at the current price until it is cancelled, with effect from the end of the current period.
11. CANCELLATIONS, REFUNDS AND CHARGEBACKS
11.1 Cancellations and refunds are governed by the Cancellation and Refund Policy. Client who cancels before work begins receives a full refund. Where work has already been done, or money has been paid out to a third party on the Client's behalf, that part is not refundable.
11.2 Refunds are made only to the original payment method, in AED.
11.3 If something has gone wrong with a payment, please contact Support before contacting your bank. Raising a chargeback for a Service that was delivered, or without first using the procedure in section 9, is a breach of these Terms. In that case the Platform may provide the card issuer with the records of the Case (including Communications and Documents where necessary), suspend the account, and recover the amount together with the PSP's chargeback fee and reasonable administration costs.
12. RIGHTS OF THE PLATFORM
12.1 The Platform may: (a) access, store, review, retain and, where required, disclose Communications and Documents as set out in section 8 and the Privacy Policy; (b) block access where payment is not received; (c) change tariffs, fees and these Terms under section 24; (d) limit, suspend or terminate access for unlawful use or breach of these Terms; (e) use anonymised, aggregated data for analysis, research and marketing; (f) verify, re-verify or remove any Specialist; (g) moderate or remove any content, profile or review under section 14; (h) place advertising on the Platform; and (i) change or improve the Platform.
12.2 These are rights, not obligations. The Platform does not undertake to monitor all content in real time.
13. YOUR OBLIGATIONS AND ACCEPTABLE USE
13.1 When using the Platform you agree:
(a) to comply with UAE law and give accurate information, without hiding facts that are important to your matter;
(b) to upload only documents that you are entitled to share, and to obtain the consent of any other person whose personal data appears in them where the law requires it;
(c) not to use the Platform to assist any offence, launder money, evade sanctions, hide assets, or falsify documents or evidence;
(d) not to impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity or qualifications;
(e) to treat Specialists, staff and other Users with courtesy, and not to harass, threaten or insult anyone;
(f) not to post or send content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, hateful, discriminatory, contrary to UAE public order and morals, or that infringes anyone's intellectual property or privacy;
(g) not to upload viruses or other harmful code, get around security measures, access restricted features without authorisation, or use bots or scrapers;
(h) not to copy, sublicense, sell, rent or reverse engineer the Platform, or use it to build a competing service;
(i) to attend booked consultations on time;
(j) to keep the Specialist's advice and drafts confidential and use them only for your own matter, without reselling or publishing them; and
(k) to follow the rule in clause 8.1. Paying a Specialist directly for Services introduced through the Platform, or taking an engagement off the Platform, removes you from the protection of this Agreement. The Platform may then suspend the account and claim the Platform Fees it would have earned on that work.
13.2 If the Platform finds content that appears unlawful, it may remove it, suspend the account and, where the law requires, report it to the authorities.
14. REVIEWS, COMMENTS AND CONTENT
14.1 After a Service a Client may leave a rating and a review. Reviews must be honest, based on genuine experience and free of confidential details. By posting a review, the Client agrees that the Platform may publish it on the Platform and in its marketing under the Client's display name or initials. The Client can ask for a review to be removed at any time.
14.2 Users may comment on articles and case stories published on the Platform. Comments must stay on topic and must not contain confidential details of any case, personal data of other people or content prohibited by clause 13.1.
14.3 The Platform moderates reviews and comments. It may refuse, shorten or reformat, or remove any review or comment that breaks these Terms, is plainly false or reveals confidential information. Reviews are not removed simply because they are negative.
14.4 You keep ownership of the content you upload. You grant the Platform a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, process and display it as far as needed to operate the Platform, comply with the law and exercise its rights under these Terms. You confirm that you have all the rights and consents needed for that content and that it is lawful.
14.5 The Platform may use any feedback or suggestions you give about the Platform freely and without payment.
15. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
15.1 The Platform, its software, databases, design, texts, articles, and the AdvoAssist name and logo belong to the Platform or its licensors. No licence is granted except as stated in these Terms.
15.2 Advice and documents prepared by a Specialist remain the Specialist's work, and the Client may use them for the matter for which they were prepared.
16. AI AND AUTOMATED TOOLS
16.1 The Platform uses automated tools and artificial intelligence ("AI Tools") to support its services. Depending on the stage of release described in clause 2.7, AI Tools may be used to:
(a) answer first questions through the chat bot and help you choose a Service;
(b) route and match Requests to Specialists;
(c) read, summarise, translate and classify the documents and information you upload, and identify the type of matter and the area of law involved;
(d) highlight possible risks, missing documents, deadlines and points for attention in a Case;
(e) suggest next steps, document templates and draft text for a Specialist to review;
(f) produce indicative estimates, including estimates of cost, duration and the likelihood of a particular outcome; and
(g) scan content for malware, spam, fraud, abuse and the exchange of contact details.
16.2 AI output is not legal advice. Any output of AI Tools is general information produced automatically. It is not legal advice, does not create a lawyer-client relationship, and must not be relied upon as the basis for a decision on your matter. Legal advice is given only by the Specialist assigned to your Case.
16.3 No guarantee of accuracy or outcome. AI Tools may produce results that are incomplete, out of date or incorrect, including when reading documents. Any indicative estimate, score or probability shown, including any likelihood of success, is a statistical estimate based on limited information. It is not a prediction of the result of your matter, and no outcome is guaranteed.
16.4 Human review. Any analysis produced by AI Tools on a Case is reviewed by the Specialist assigned to it, or by the Platform's staff, before it is acted upon. While a function is not yet released in automated form, the same analysis is carried out manually by the Platform's staff and by Specialists.
16.5 Your responsibility. You remain responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the information and documents you provide, and you should have any AI-generated text checked before using it outside the Platform.
16.6 No solely automated decisions. No decision that produces legal effects for you, or that similarly significantly affects you, including refusing a Service, suspending an account, deciding an Arbitration or setting a price, is taken by AI Tools alone. A member of the Platform's staff is always involved. You may ask for a human review of any automated decision that affects you and may contest it.
16.7 Content held for review. Content flagged by an automated scan may be held back until a member of staff has reviewed it.
16.8 Data processed by AI Tools. The personal data processed by AI Tools, the categories of provider engaged and the safeguards applied are described in the Privacy Policy. Documents and messages are processed only for the purposes set out there and are not used to train the general models of third-party providers.
17. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
17.1 The Platform relies on third-party services such as the PSP, hosting, communications, identity verification and analytics providers, and the Apple App Store and Google Play. Your use of them is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
17.2 The Platform chooses its providers with care, but it is not responsible for their acts, failures, changes or data practices, except where it is itself at fault.
18. MOBILE APPS
18.1 The mobile apps are licensed, not sold, on a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable basis, for use on devices you own or control. You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer or sublicense the app.
18.2 This Agreement is between you and the Platform only. Apple and Google are not parties to it, have no obligation to maintain or support the app, and are not responsible for the app or for any claim relating to it. The Platform alone is responsible for the app, including product liability and consumer claims and any third-party intellectual property claims.
18.3 The Platform may release updates to the app. Some updates may be needed to keep using it.
19. AVAILABILITY OF THE PLATFORM
19.1 The Platform aims to be available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance and third-party failures may cause downtime.
19.2 The Platform may suspend a channel or a Case where a payment is reversed, a User is suspended, prohibited content is detected, an authority requires it, or it is necessary to protect a User or the Platform. Where a suspension is not caused by the Client, any refund due is dealt with under the Cancellation and Refund Policy.
20. LIABILITY
20.1 The Platform is responsible for the part of the Service it controls: checking Specialists before and after they are listed, managing the Case, running the Platform with reasonable care and skill, handling payments and documents securely, and dealing fairly with complaints through Arbitration.
20.2 The Specialist is responsible, under his or her licence and professional rules, for the legal advice and representation given. The Platform's commitment is to step in through Arbitration, as described in section 9, where the Specialist falls short.
20.3 Apart from the commitments in clause 20.1, the website, apps and their content are provided "as is" and "as available", and the Platform gives no other warranty, express or implied, including of fitness for a particular purpose.
20.4 The Platform is not liable for:
(a) the outcome of any court case, investigation or application to a government body;
(b) losses caused by incomplete or inaccurate information given by a User;
(c) interruptions, delays or data loss caused by events outside its reasonable control, including internet or power failures, cyber-attacks, failures of Apple, Google, the PSP or other third-party services, or acts of public authorities; or
(d) loss of profit, business, goodwill, data or opportunity, or any indirect, consequential, special or punitive loss.
20.5 To the extent the law allows, the Platform's total liability to a Client in connection with any Case is limited to the total amount the Client paid through the Platform for that Case.
20.6 Nothing in this Agreement limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct or gross negligence, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot be limited under UAE law, including Federal Law No. 15 of 2020 on Consumer Protection.
21. SUSPENSION AND TERMINATION
21.1 You can close your account at any time from the account settings or by writing to Support. Any Case in progress is dealt with under the Cancellation and Refund Policy, and any amounts already due remain payable.
21.2 The Platform may suspend or close an account, with notice by e-mail where practicable, for serious or repeated breach of these Terms, non-payment, false information, suspected fraud or unlawful activity, insolvency, loss of a professional licence, or legal, regulatory or reputational risk. In urgent cases, or where the law does not allow a warning, the Platform may act without prior notice. The Platform may also close an account without giving a reason on 30 days' notice, in which case any Service not yet delivered is refunded.
21.3 When an account is closed, access ends and the Platform keeps records for the periods stated in the Privacy Policy. Clients can ask to download their documents before the account is closed.
22. FORCE MAJEURE
22.1 Neither party is liable for failure or delay caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including war, civil unrest, epidemic, natural disaster, power, telecoms or internet failure, cyber-attack or government action. The affected party must notify the other within 5 days. Obligations are suspended while the event continues, and either party may terminate the affected Order if it continues for more than 60 days, in which case any Service not yet delivered is refunded.
23. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
23.1 The Platform may update these Terms, for example when new Services are added or the law changes. The new version will be published on the Platform and, for material changes, registered Users will be notified by e-mail or in their account at least 30 days before it takes effect, unless the law requires a change sooner.
23.2 Changes do not apply retroactively, to Orders already paid for, or to disputes that started before the change. If you do not agree with the new version, you may close your account before it takes effect.
24. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTES
24.1 This Agreement is governed by the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates and the laws of the Emirate of Dubai.
24.2 The parties will first try to settle any dispute amicably, through Support or Arbitration, within 14 days. If that fails, the courts of Dubai have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory right to bring a claim elsewhere.
25. GENERAL
25.1 Nothing in this Agreement creates a partnership, agency or employment relationship between the Platform and any User.
25.2 If any part of this Agreement is found invalid, it is removed and the rest remains in force.
25.3 If the Platform does not enforce a right straight away, it does not give that right up.
25.4 You may not transfer this Agreement without the Platform's written consent. The Platform may transfer it to a company that takes over the Platform, provided your rights are not reduced.
25.5 Notices to the Platform must be sent to support@advoassist.com. Notices to you are sent to your registered e-mail address or by in-app message and are treated as delivered when sent.
26. ACCEPTANCE AND ELECTRONIC SIGNATURE
26.1 Before you use your account for the first time, the Platform displays the current version of these Terms, the Cancellation and Refund Policy and the Privacy Policy, and asks you to confirm that you accept them.
26.2 You give that confirmation by typing your first name and family name in the field provided and confirming. You agree that typing your name in this way constitutes your electronic signature, that it has the same legal effect as a handwritten signature, and that it binds you to the versions of the documents displayed to you at that moment.
26.3 The Platform records and retains, for each acceptance, the version and date of each document accepted, the name you entered, the date and time of acceptance, the account concerned and technical data such as the IP address. These records are kept as evidence of acceptance in accordance with the Privacy Policy, and you may request a copy of them.
26.4 Acceptance and signature in this manner are made in accordance with Federal Decree-Law No. 46 of 2021 on Electronic Transactions and Trust Services. You agree that an electronic record or electronic signature is not denied legal effect solely because it is in electronic form, and that the Platform's records of your acceptance are admissible as evidence.
26.5 Where a new version of these Terms or of the policies takes effect under section 23, you may be asked to accept it again in the same way, and access to your account may be limited to the acceptance screen until you do so. Where a Platform manager opens an account on your behalf, you are asked to accept the documents in the same way when you first log in through the access link.
